Following a dreamy Couture showing inspired by the opera, Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli opted for a peppier, more modern inspiration for Fall: Italian Pop art.
The result? A well rounded beautifully detailed collection filled with groovy florals and prints bursting with bright hues.
MAKEUP LOOKS FROM THE OSCARS:
Last night was the 2014 Oscars and sure enough their were frocks galore but being a makeup lover, I couldn’t wait to see the makeup from the red carpet!
I have to say this year, makeup wise, it seems like everyone played it quite safe, classically beautiful, but safe! The general look adopted by key actresses this year was one of polished, glowing fresh skin, with defined eyes. Eyes were enhanced with shading and lashes but not smokey eyes, so the look was timeless yet modern. Lips were also generally fairly paired down.
My favourite versions of this look were worn by Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie. I thought Cate’s individual lashes really enhanced her eyes yet kept the look paired down, whilst Angelina went for gorgeous definition to her beautiful brown eyes creating a sophisticated cat eye look that focused heavily on the outer corner of the eyes, keeping skin and lips neutral.
